Our Ambassadorial Scholar, Megan Winkeler flew out this evening after, as she said, a fantastic stay in Cape Town. She met some wonderful, mostly post-grad, students and made good friends with those in her Observatory digs. Lots of tears today as she said farewell but I demanded they all smile for the photograph. Her only gripe – the bureaucracy at UCT. I believe we at Rotary are lucky to have had such a lovely young lady as one of our “babies” – friendly, warm and humorous.
