Mandela Day Painting Day a Great Success
July 29, 2012

Due to the adverse weather conditions this past weekend we had to delay our Mandela Day painting day to this weekend. Everything is on track. Danny and I had to call in our friends to make up for the fact that Rotaract is on conference this weekend.

There is a bus leaving from my house in Rondebosch at 8.30 AM. And it will arrive back there at 3.30 PM. This is largely because Danny until recently used to live next door to me, and our friends all know where it is. Its also to irritate the car guard who will be manning the bays on the road later on for the rugby (which starts at 5PM). My housemate Nic will be serving everyone tea, who is the second best tea brewer behind Roy Cheek. Roy’s tea makes even a tennis biscuit taste delicious when dunked!

Its going to be a fun day out. Danny and Jo are preparing the food. We are basically painting the whole exterior of the creche, as well as a massive 9×2.5m mural designed by Frank Joubert Art School (thanks to Danny for organising this!). Roy Cheek is our site manager, who did a superb job on the prep day.

If anyone is keen to join us please pop me an email, or tweet/facebook me if you were directed from there.

Here are some selected pics from the prep day.

Well done with your initative in mobilising dormant workers.
Let me have the address for catching the bus, in case I don’t succeed in catching a lift with your dad!
Look forward to splashing paint all over the place.
