On Sunday 17th November Danny and Jo, representing our club, spent a few hours on the special Mitzvah “help day” at Includid where we pulled out hundreds of weeds thriving in the unkempt lawn. Notice the more mature Rotarian sitting down to weed! The youth were digging away in what will eventually become a beautiful welcoming garden. On the side of reception more vegetable seedlings were planted to add to the mielies, cabbages and artichokes already well established. Gavin Schachat of Sea Point Rotary had organized the garden clean up and planting and both of us felt that this was the sort of hands on project we love. The residents of Included all sat around watching and clapping their hands with approval. The heavy rains were a blessing for us, as the weeds came out very easily. However, when we left we realised that this job will not be finished in one day and we will be back.
